Mary Murphy

Term: Spring 2015

Topic:

2017 While I was at Grey Towers I worked on research on food and logging camps, as working in the woods is the case study I am using for a chapter of my book, Culinary Diplomacy: Gender, Food and Power on the Northern Borderlands. It will deal both with commercial logging and forest service workers. While that book is far from complete, I did more immediately use the research I accomplished at Grey Towers to teach in teacher training conference organized by the National Museum of Forest Service History here in Montana in May.  I envision further work with the museum
